Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation Program

Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation Program Renewal

Thank you for your ongoing support of the Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation, the Town’s electricity supply program, operating since 2016!

Good Energy is the Town’s consultant helping you manage the program, and this article provides a short update on the program’s performance.

Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation is announcing the renewal of the program through the term December 2023 – November 2025. Most participants do not need to take any action to remain in the program and receive the new pricing for the product in which they are currently enrolled. Read on for more information.

Program Progress :

As a reminder, the goals of this program are to (1) offer additional renewable content of our electricity supply, (2) maintain competitive prices, and (3) move towards greater rate stability.

  • Since Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation’s launch in 2016, participants have cumulatively purchased 130 MWh of renewable energy. This equates to avoiding over 98,540 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions cumulatively.
  • Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation has cumulatively saved participants $14,400,000 on electricity supply cost since 2016.
  • Over 9,900 accounts participate in the program, which includes the vast majority of residential customers in the Town.

New Pricing:

The program’s current electricity supply contract expires in December 2023, and the program was renewed with a new contract starting in December 2023 and going through November 2025. Constellation is the electricity supplier for the current contract, and after a competitive bidding process, they will continue to be the program’s supplier for this upcoming contract. The table below shows the prices for Residential, Commercial, and Industrial customers.

The Transition to New Pricing:

Most participants in Dracut’s program use the Default product, “Dracut Standard”, which offers the same renewable energy content as National Grid Basic Service. “Dracut Standard” participants will automatically receive the new program pricing on their December meter read. Due to requirements from the Department of Public Utilities, participants in the 50% and 100% renewable product must affirmatively re-enroll in a product of their choosing to remain in the program. To re-enroll or change your product selection, call Constellation at (833) 461-0813 or complete an enrollment form on the program site: Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation (CEA) Website.

Participant Communications:

Early next week, Good Energy will provide a press release to Town staff to reach more local outlets. Good Energy will also prepare and circulate social media assets to be posted on municipal accounts over the next month. This information will also be posted on the program website, Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation (CEA) Website, and FAQ documents are being updated.

In addition to these information releases, Good Energy, the consultant to the program, will hold virtual public information sessions to answer any questions and provide more information on the renewal of Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation. These sessions will be held on:

At these sessions, Good Energy will provide more information regarding the prices and respond to any questions that customers and other members of the public may have.

The voluntary renewable energy content in the Program’s optional product comes from projects that qualify as MA Class I renewables and makes a sizable impact on the Town’s carbon footprint. Since Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation’s launch in 2016, participants have cumulatively purchased 130 MWh of renewable energy. This equates to avoiding over 105,590 pounds of carbon dioxide emissions cumulatively.

Over 9,900 accounts participate in the program, a vast majority of the Town’s residential, commercial, and industrial electricity users. Participants have collectively saved more than $14,400,000 since the program’s launch in 2016 (please note, future savings cannot be guaranteed).

This is a Town-operated program open to all Dracut residents and businesses. To join, complete the enrollment form on the program website: Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation (CEA) Website or call the program’s supplier, Constellation, at (833) 461-0813. Participants may leave the program at any time without fees or penalties. Visit the program website to review all program options available and to submit any questions via the program contact form located on Dracut Community Electricity Aggregation (CEA) Website.
