TRASH AND RECYCLE WILL BE ON THE ONE-DAY DELAY SCHEDULE DUE TO MONDAY OCTOBER 14 COLUMBUS DAY HOLIDAY.
If your trash and recycle is put out at the curb by 7:00 a.m. or the night before there should be no reason why you are missed, although sometimes things happen.
If Trash or Recycle is missed you need to call the TOWN OFFICE of either the Board of Selectmen (978) 452-1908 or the Town Manager (978) 452-1227 by 9:00 a.m. the next morning in order for us to TRY and get the company back to empty your trash or recycle. If your trash route is on FRIDAY - Please call us Monday morning before 9:00 a.m. so that we can give it to the trash company to go back.
Bulky / Special Items Pick-up
REPUBLIC SERVICES WILL NOT PICK UP CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS / PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH YOUR CONTRACTOR FOR REMOVAL OF THESE ITEMS.
REPUBLIC SERVICES WILL NOT PICK UP WOODEN SWINGSETS THIS IS CONTAMINATED WOOD.
If you have carpet - it must be in three to four foot lengths tied or taped in bundles.
Bulky items are household trash that don’t fit in the wheeled trash cart (e.g. table, mattress, sofa). One bulky item per week is allowed at no charge but this is a pre-registered service and residents must call the collection vendor, Republic Services at tel.# 800 442-9006, in advance. If you have scheduled your bulk with Republic and the day they tell you they will pick it up comes and they don't pick it up - CALL THE TOWN OFFICES - Town Manager or Selectmen at the above numbers. We will work with the local Supervisor for Republic to get the item picked up.
Special Items such as White Goods (e.g. fridge, washing machine, air conditioner) and CRT’s (e.g. television and computer monitors) are banned from disposal as trash by the Mass DEP. Residents can use the twice a month recycling service offered by our collection vendor. There is a fee for this service and residents must call Republic Services at tel.# 800 442-9006 in advance.
