Dr. Pardeep Aujla was vacationing in Las Vegas with her family, celebrating her 40th birthday, when she stopped at a large mirror and got a look at her skin.
“When I turned 40, I didn’t feel old but I felt like my skin looked old,” Pardeep said. “I noticed wrinkles on my skin.”
As if on cue, a man selling skin creams approached her and took advantage of her when she was in a vulnerable state, and she bought the cream. To put it bluntly, she was conned.
“Being a physician made me think I was knowledgeable, but I was scammed,” Pardeep said.
It happens to the best of us. But being scammed led her to a life-changing realization. She wanted to help people feel better about their aging skin.
And it all started with a trip to Sin City. Or, in her case, Skin City.
Pardeep opened New England Fountain of Youth in 2019 at 14 Loon Hill Road. In early 2024, she moved to 454 Hildreth Street into a former house that she and her husband, Dr. J Ausla renovated and turned into a two-story health spa.
The family also live in Dracut and said the community has welcomed them with open arms.
NE Fountain of Youth is Dracut Economic Development’s Business of the Month for February 2025.
Before opening her spa, Pardeep was a Dracut-based primary-care physician affiliated with Lowell General Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, N.H.
“I always had an interest in plastic surgery, but I didn’t want to be a surgeon,” she said. “When I was doing primary care, everybody complained about aging skin. I decided this is what I wanted to do.”
She also wanted to protect people from skin scammers. After all, if a medical doctor can be taken in, anyone is vulnerable.
“My goal was not only to protect people from these scams, but to find the right kind of tools available and medical-grade products that work and are high-quality,” she said. “Once your skin health is good, everything else comes after that.”
NE Fountain of Youth bills itself as “high quality cosmetic care that highlights your beauty.” Its services include:
- Hair removal and restoration, using platelet-rich plasma (PRP), Diolaze, platelet-rich fibrin matrix (PRFM), dermaplaning, and Hydrafacial Keravive.
- Rejuvenation services, including Morpheus8, microneedling (collagen-induction therapy), Mesogold therapy, Moxi, Lumecca, and ThermoClear.
- Facial services, including chemical peels, DiamondGlow, Hydrafacial MD, ZO Acne facial and ZO Brightening facial.
- IV therapy, using amino acids, ascorbic acid, B-complex vitamins, Myers’ Cocktail, Immunity, Inner Beauty, recovery and performance, and Get-Up-And-Go.
- Botox.
- Dermal fillers.
First-time clients will also receive a free Visia skin analysis of their face to see where the trouble spots are. Think of it as like having bloodwork done before a visit to your general practitioner.
NE Fountain of Youth has four treatment rooms spread over two floors. It has four employees, and Pradeep performs most of the treatments, though an aesthetician performs most of the facial procedures.
Pradeep also does wellness consultation, gut health, difficulty losing weight, lifestyle recommendations, and overall health and wellness recommendations.
When Pradeep decided to go into the spa business, even though she was already a PCP she went through all of the appropriate training. And she’s never done.
“I’m constantly educating myself, constantly training,” she said.
And, hopefully, never falling for a scam again.
