Thinking about going solar? March 21 is National Renewable Energy Day, so it’s as good a time as any.
Renewable energy, of course, includes more than solar; hydroelectric, wind and biogas are also viable alternatives. But solar is, by far, the most popular.
Although the idea of harnessing the power of the sun dates back to the 7th century B.C., solar energy has gathered steam this century. The cost of solar panels has dropped substantially in the past few decades, leading to a rise in consumer demand.
