Joe and Tricia Forster opened Tavern on the Line in 2019 at 1794 Bridge Street, in the spot that previously housed Maguire’s Tavern.
The name Tavern on the Line has two meanings: The restaurant is a stone’s throw from the Pelham line, and Joe and Tricia are both retired from the phone company, Joe as a lineman and Tricia as a technician. The tavern’s inventive logo reflects that, incorporating two telephone poles. As Joe said, he retired so he can work 80 hours a week at the restaurant.
