Out with the old and in with the new – New Era, that is.
New Era Plumbing & HVAC opened for business at 1278 Lakeview Avenue in November, and Dracut Economic Development held a ribbon-cutting and grand-opening ceremony on December 10 to officially welcome the business.
New Era was originally located in a small bay at 1 New Boston Road, and owner Dan Pen also operated a call center in Tewksbury and a training center in
North Andover. The shop at 1278 Lakeview allows him to operate all facets of his business under one roof.
The space once housed St. Onge Supply Company for 60 years. St. Onge closed in 2016. Also in the building is Mini Bites Factory, the latest in a small chain of Brazilian food shops that opened earlier in December.
Dan, along with his wife and company treasurer Thais Costa, and brother Justin Pen, the service manager, worked for months to update and renovate the space.
To Dan and Thais, their employees are like family, and they treat them as such. The new office has a separate training room where weekly sessions are held so employees remain up to date. They offer prizes to employees who meet their weekly service goals.
