Tami Dristiliaris had a perfectly good career going as a maternity nurse at Lowell General Hospital. But she wanted to be her own boss, and that’s kind of tough to do when you’re a nurse.
So she went to Suffolk Law School and, in 2002, earned her law degree. The following year, she hung out her shingle in Village Square, 101 Broadway Road, and the Law Offices of Tami M. Dristiliaris, LLC, was born. She started out above M.L. Shaw’s Restaurant but moved eight years ago into Suite 22, between Fred C. Church Insurance and the former Diama-Gold Jewelry.
“I wanted to go back to school to do something where I could work for myself,” Tami says.
She specializes in estate planning, probate, family law, personal injury, and mediation services, including work commissioned by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Tami was a nurse for close to 20 years before she decided to change careers.
“I love the medical field, but I felt like I was too old to go back to medical school. I love doing this because of the independence I get.”
She loves it so much that her husband, George, decided to follow in her footsteps. He was in the business of printed circuit boards before catching the law bug. He graduated from New England School of Law in 2007. One of their four children is also a lawyer. They also have nine grandchildren with a tenth on the way.
The Dristiliarises are longtime Dracut residents, and Tami served two terms on the Board of Selectmen.
Tami feels a close connection to her clients, many of whom are going through tough times.
“I never say no,” she says.
