Gov. Healey declares Oct. 8 Town Meeting Day; Dracut meets Nov. 10
As Dracut prepares for its November 10th Town Meeting, today the Commonwealth of Massachusetts celebrates the principles of Town Meeting government.
Governor Maura Healey has proclaimed October 8, 2025 as 'Town Meeting Day' in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, a day dedicated to recognizing civic participation and the long-standing tradition of open Town Meetings across the state.
This statewide recognition highlights the importance of local democracy and the role that Town Meetings play in giving residents a direct voice in their communities.
While Town Meeting Day is being observed across Massachusetts today, Dracut’s Fall Town Meeting will take place on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 7:00 PM. Residents are encouraged to attend and participate in this meaningful tradition of self-governance.
