Presidential Primary Election Guide: An Essential Overview for March 5th

As the Presidential Primary Election approaches on March 5, 2024, residents of Dracut, Massachusetts, have the opportunity to participate in early voting, ensuring their voices are heard. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you navigate the crucial aspects of this electoral process:

Early Voting in Dracut

Location: Dracut Town Hall, 62 Arlington Street, Dracut, MA

Early Voting Dates & Times:

  • Saturday, Feb 24: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Monday, Feb 26: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Tuesday, Feb 27: 8:30 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Wednesday, Feb 28: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Thursday, Feb 29: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Friday, Mar 01: 8:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Save Time. Avoid Aggravation. Check your voter status BEFORE going to the Polls on Election Day!

1. Are You a Registered Voter?

The deadline to register for the Presidential Primary election is Saturday, February 24th, @ 5:00 pm. The Town Clerk's Office will be open on this date from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM for in-person voter registration. You may also register to vote online at Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Website. This is also the last day to make changes to your party affiliation.

Remember, the Primary is a Partisan Election, and you must vote on the ballot for the party in which you are registered.

If you are registered as Unenrolled, you must choose either a Democrat, Republican, or Libertarian ballot for the Presidential Primary Election.

2. Is Your Voter Status "Active"?

Voters must return their signed annual census form to the Town Clerk’s office to maintain active voter status. Inactive voters are still eligible to vote but will be required to complete additional forms and show an ID at the polls with an address matching their voter registration. To avoid standing in another line at the polls, voters who appear as inactive can change their status to active by signing and submitting a census form (PDF) to the Town Clerk’s Office by Saturday, February 24th, @ 5:00 pm.

Unsure what your voter status is? You can check your voter status online on the Secretary of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Website.

3. Can I Vote Early in Person or by Mail?

Yes! You can vote early either in person or by mail. In-person Early Voting for the Presidential Primary will be held at the Dracut Town Hall on the dates & times listed above. You can vote by mail by submitting a vote by mail application (PDF) to the Office of the Town Clerk not later than 5 pm on Tuesday, February 27th.

4. Where Do I Vote on Election Day?

The Town of Dracut has 3 polling locations and 10 precincts. Precincts 1, 5, & 6A vote at the Senior Center, 951 Mammoth Rd. Precincts 4 & 8 vote at the M.G. Parker Memorial Library, 28 Arlington St. Precincts 2, 3, 6, 7, & 9 vote at the Richardson Middle School, 1570 Lakeview Avenue.
